Cultivating our company’s writing culture.

We started NewBalance Energy just a few months before COVID-19 hit. The nature of our business and our talent requirements brought together people from different continents, languages, and backgrounds. We were forced from the get-go to design our operations online and, therefore, to spend an extraordinary amount of time on communication. As we created NewBalance, the details of the HOW we would accomplish our mission got polished along the way. For this reason, we decided early on to nurture a writing culture that would allow current and new members to get in sync and hit the ground running as we moved from chapter to chapter. Writing one’s thoughts down has a dual purpose. It helps to crystalize an idea, and it works as a medium for others to understand it.

Many of the things we make public through these writings were at some point considered proprietary secrets of our company and vision. Until we realized that it was better to expose our thoughts and help our hydrogen production projects and off-take partners understand our approach to solving their challenges than to protect ourselves from a hypothetical competitor. Then this took us to another revelation. While (almost) everybody wants to push decarbonization forward, we all have different ideas, skills, and visions on how to do it. In some cases, those ideas and visions even become life journeys. Far from a secret hunt.

NewBalance is our journey to solve the chicken-and-egg dynamics affecting green hydrogen’s potential. The result of a comprehensive set of collective experiences, skills, and beliefs related to decarbonization and energy transition. These writings reflect our journey and thinking evolution as we partner with some of the largest organizations to unlock and advance the global trade of this new energy vector.
